saec. V?
We do not know who Grillius was, or when he wrote his commentary on Cicero’s De inventione, especially if he is not the Grillius known to Priscian (s. V-VI). He drew upon Marius Victorinus’ Commenta in Ciceronis Rhetorica (after 355), and Jakobi, who has written a commentary on the Commentum (De Gruyter, 2005), inclines to an early fifth-century dating.
