Reference edition:

Les Arpenteurs romains, Tome II. Hygin. Siculus Flaccus, texte établi et traduit par Jean-Yves Guillaumin, Paris, Les Belles Lettres, 2010.

Siculus Flaccus wrote his treatise on land-surveying, De condicionibus agrorum, between 292 and 312 AD. The text is transmitted as part of the Corpus agrimensorum Romanorum. It collects pieces of historical and land-surveying information taken from Hyginus and, in smaller measure, Frontinus. It aims at offering a comprehensive discussion of the different legal categories of land in the Italian peninsula. The content is divided into four sections: general principles on categories of land, discussion of the  ager arcifinalis, discussion of the  ager quaestorius, discussion of the  ager diuisus et adsignatus.

Flaccus’ work was considered highly authoritative within the Corpus agrimensorum Romanorum. This is demonstrated by the fact that the Libri coloniarum make use of Flaccus. [D. Paniagua; translation L. Battezzato]
