This page contains:
- the list of Late Antique authors of non-Christian prose works with the relevant reference editions, edited by Simona Musso.
- the list of late-ancient Latin legal sources, edited by Alice Borgna under the supervision of Maria Antonietta Ligios.
Both lists are not meant to be prescriptive: they merely present the choices that were made by the digilibLT library and are meant to serve as a tool that is open for scholars’ collaboration, to supplement and modify as proves necessary or desirable in the future.
The grammarians require special note. For these authors, the digilibLT library used the corpus from the CD-ROM edited by Nino Marinone and described by Valeria Lomanto (Lomanto, V. 1990. “A Concordance to Keil’s Latin Grammarians,” in Computers and Humanities 24: 427-34). Twenty-five years later, only a few of the editions adopted in the CD-ROM have been replaced by newer editions; these are indicated in the canon. It was also decided that references to the volume and pages of Heinrich Keil’s edition of the Grammatici Latini would always be provided in order to ensure precise identification of individual works whose titles are often generic or similar. Wherever this resulted in more than one edition being listed, the one adopted by the digital library has been printed in bold. [tr. C. L. Caterine].
